Since 2002 Leroy Brothers have been working for several projects (Artmann, Axel King, Brand art, … ) with the Chinese reproduction village, Dafen. The village produces the highest amount of oil and acrylic paintings from mostly classical masters. By outsourcing the painting production of artworks, the globalization is reaching to the extreme while questions on the artist-ship are being raised.
The works documenting this process exists out of sculptures of the Chinese Painters (2009), Docupaintings (Chinese Ink paintings of the workshops created from 2006) and the Infomentary series (compositions of pictures of the workshops, 2010).
